HD-133: State Dems Should Pick Jose Rosado Over Dan McNeill

Share With Friends

The vote was close enough between Jose Rosado and Dan McNeill that the state Party shouldn’t feel any pressure to choose Dan McNeill for HD-133 even though he was narrowly the top vote-getter among local committee members.

To put it frankly, Mr. Rosado is a much better fit for this district as a young Latino Mayor than a 65-year-old white guy. Rosado is also a better pick if we’re thinking about the farm team for future elections. The Democratic caucus has plenty of older white dudes who aren’t going to seek higher office. We need to start recruiting younger legislators who we can tap for state Senate and US House races, and this is a perfect place to start.
