Yesterday, the AFL-CIO announced that since September, nearly 5,000 labor activists in Pennsylvania had made over 500,000 phone calls to voters, knocked on over 500,000 doors and had handed out nearly 1.5 million fliers at work sites across the state.

The message was the same across the state: “President Obama and Senator Casey deserve the vote of working Pennsylvania families.”

Local Democratic candidates, of course, got the residual benefit of having extra canvassers rallying the base to top-of-the-ticket leaders.

“President Obama and Senator Casey will cut taxes for the middle class, protect Medicare and end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas,” said AFL-CIO State Director David Driscoll-Knight.

“That’s why working people in Pennsylvania will support President Obama and Senator Casey on election day.”

The following are the exact numbers released by the AFL-CIO:

Phone calls: 506, 093
Doors knocked: 546,443
Worksite fliers handed out: 1,458,100
Volunteers: 4875 (On Saturday 10/20/2012 – 1200 canvassers were out on that one day)
