From Rep. Jesse White’s Facebook page:
BREAKING NEWS: We just tried to force a vote on HR 520, urging the US Attorney to investigate AG #Corbett and his handling of the #Sandusky case. The #Republican majority immediately stopped proceedings, and nearly all Republican members have fled floor even though we’re still in session. This is shocking and outrageous- what depths won’t they go to in order to learn the truth?

Perhaps if Mr. White and other elected officials would follow protocol instead of producing one frivolous dog an pony show after another they could then convince the constituents they are earning their salaries which are paid by tax dollars.
Think of the Children. Corbett hid Sanduskys actions this is disgraceful. Thus now becomes Pennsylvania’s scandal.
Think what you will about Penn State”s role in the Sandusky case, but Corbett’s problem is that his GJ spent 3 years investigating (I know they didn’t meet every day) AND he had evidence early on that Sandusky was a pred/pedo. But rather than have the GJ indict for 1 count and get Sandusky off the street or on bail and under surveillence, he chose to wait until more victims could be found. The GJ could have just have easily indicted AND continued to investigate. Further, there were limited resources allocated to the Sandusky GJ (1 state trooper) while significantly more resources were dedicated to pursuing Democratic politicians misuse of campaign funds which isn’t nearly as urgent as removing a child pred/pedo from society.
Despite knowing about Sandusky, Corbett never even dropped an informal or backdoor hint to Penn State thus hanging them out to dry and to deal with the subsequent fallout.
Investigating Corbett’s botched handling of the Sandusky investigation is frivolous?
Regardless of the issue, to GOPpers investigating GOPpers is frivolous.
I think running implies guilt on some level, don’t you? Jon is right – the way Corbett botched the handling of Sandusky investigation is far from frivolous! Oh, the ones that ran – they’re not Republicans; they’re pedophile enabler protectors, and should be referred to as such.
If Corbett has nothing to hide, he should welcome an investigation. There is a lot more to that story that needs investigated in order to find justice for the victims. People need to get the politics out of it and think of the victims. If I were a victim, I would want to know. Simply put, investigate it and put it to bed. Just don’t walk out on a job that you are paid to do when things don’t go your way. Republicans have held the majority and shoved a lot of things down the throats of the Dems over the past two years. Just do your job. If you don’t like the bill, debate it and vote no on it. Just don’t walk away. What does that say to the victims?
So the Republicans want to stymie an investigation which could investigate and possibly clear Corbett?
Something smells fishy!
