Want to join Rep. Bill Shuster for “an Afternoon Cruise” on a D.C. yacht? That’ll be $500, please.

Summer’s almost over, but it’s not too late to go yachting with your favorite Chairman of the House Transportation Committee. For the low, low price of just $500, you can join the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s Boat PAC for an afternoon cruise with Republican Congressman Bill Shuster.

Just last month, Shuster’s fellow Pennsylvania GOP Congressman Lou Barletta held his own fundraiser on a D.C. yacht called “Finished Business.” Like Barletta, Shuster’s district is completely landlocked.

Who will be the next starboard-leaning PA Congressman to take big-dollar donors on a casual cruise? I’m looking at you, Mike Kelly.

I’d rather that Mr. Shuster presented himself in Greene County and pressed the press with us, his constituents. Since we were stuck with him, and he’s no better than Murtha.
