You rarely hear them admit this is what they think, so it’s a real treat to hear Jerome Corsi say it so plainly:
“Sex isn’t about fun…If you want to have fun, read a book, go to a movie. Sex is about the procreation of children. It’s a sacred responsibility that is meant by God to have men and women commit their lifetime to children.”
This idea is really the lodestar of social conservative politics. It is what animates their opposition to birth control, their support for anti-sodomy laws, their hostility toward greater acceptance of LGBT lifestyles, and all the rest. The reason you’ll never hear a social conservative support expansion of birth control as a means of reducing abortions is that their real objective is a War on Sexytime. They long for the days when recreational sex was scarier, because of the possibility of accidental pregnancy.
The enthusiasm for this type of vindictive just-deserts mentality from older white conservative guys seems to stem from their paranoia about sexual inadequacy. Women don’t try to have sex with them for fun, so nobody else should get to do it dammit!
