Pat Toomey’s Shutdown Vacation

Share With Friends

Why did Pat Toomey close 6 out of 7 offices when some House members kept theirs open? He’s allowed to decide which aides are necessary (Tim Murphy, for example, thinks all his aides are necessary) but Toomey apparently decided to stop working because austerity or something:

Republican Sen. Pat Toomey has closed six of his Pennsylvania offices,
leaving just his Allentown location open to help constituents during
the shutdown.

“I am frustrated we have gotten to this point. Shutdown or not,
serving the people of Pennsylvania is my top priority,” Mr. Toomey
said. “Please be assured that I will continue working with my
colleagues to find a sensible resolution to this situation
