#HD182: Brian Sims Wins 8th Ward Endorsement. Babette Josephs Wins a Court Date.

Last night, Philadelphia’s 8th Ward Democratic Committee announced their endorsement of Representative Brian Sims for re-election to the 182nd House District.

This is somewhat surprising for two reasons: Babette Josephs currently serves as a committee-woman within this group, and up until last night, Josephs has always received the endorsement of the 8th Ward Democratic Committee when running for state representative in the 182nd.

One could speculate that the new petition forgery allegations had an impact, or possibly they endorsed Representative Sims as the incumbent in the race, but the true reasons will only be known to the individuals who privately cast their votes yesterday evening.

In other news, a court date has been set to address the petition forgery allegations made by Brian Sims’ lawyer, Adam Bonin, against Babette Josephs. The first hearing will be held on Thursday April 3rd, at 9:30 AM.
