PA Voters: A Letter from AK Voter to vett Palin to you.

I have once mentioned and quoted the feedback of one of my former classmates who lives in Alaska, and his thoughts on Sarah Palin. Well this email if from one of his friends, who is a school Principal and has experience working with and advising Governors and others in Alaska. This is the email he sent to those who were asking him about SarahPalin.

It's enlightening for sure.

Please enjoy and share!

Hi Friends,

My brother sent this note regarding his impressions about Sarah Palin
(McCain's baffling VP choice). I thought it was interesting coming from
his inside-Alaska perspective, and worth passing along. For those who
don't know my brother, he is a principal of a school up in Alaska,  read more »

Pa Voter: Palin is a "Wow" only because of Low Expectations

I woke up to the headline “Palin wow’s GOP!”

I have to wonder if they saw they same speech I did? Yes, she was snarky, snide, and juvenile as she read her prepared speech off the teleprompter, but “wow?” I wasn’t feeling that, and it didn’t appear to me that the participants were unanimously feeling it either.  read more »

Got Stimulus? Turn Bush-Bucks to Clinton-Cash!

It is time to close the deal, and Hillary needs our help! She has to win more than just Pennsylvania to seal up her fight for the nomination.

More specifically, she needs money to take on the cash machine of Obama!

So I have an idea, as many of you will soon be receiving “Stimulus” checks from President Bush, why not send them to Hillary?!

If you can’t send it all, how about a piece of it?

I think we can all afford to pass $20 bucks from George W to Hillary!

What could be better than taking some Bush Bucks and putting them to work for Hillary Clinton?!

Don’t just hope for change. Vote for it!

Spend Bush Stimulus on his replacement -- Hillary!

Hillary: $3 Million raised in last three hours!

Keep it up!

It’s time to refill the coffers!

Here’s an idea, give half of the “stimulus” check that George W is sending you to Hillary. Keep half of this money for yourself, and use the other half to put the person in the White House that will change your life!

Think about it.

How much of a slap in Bush’s face is it to fund Hillary with money he sent to you?!

I owe this idea to my partner, and it’s a great one!

How much will Hillary raise by morning? It’s up to you!

Thompson Beats Shaner & Walker for PA 05

Glenn Thompson has beaten the silver-spoon boys (Shaner & Walker) in PA 05.

Mark McCracken has his work cut out for him with this challenger, but I think he has a good shot at beating him.

PA 05 -- Mark McCracken Wins Democratic Nomination

Congratulations to Mark McCracken on a landslide victory in District 05! I am highly encouraged by the numbers he is posting. Many have tried to say that a Democrat can’t win District 5, I hate to burst their bubble, but this is now a Blue State!

GOP race is “still too close to call” at 78% counted. Four way race between Shaner, Walker, and Thompson, and Stroehman.

Early Clinton Support: PSU, Ebensburg, Hollidaysburg, & Altoona

Early reports from the Altoona Mirror are highlighting votes for both, but it seems that stories of Clinton votes in these areas are outpacing Obama votes. One thing is for sure, this primary is going to be one for the record books!

“I remember going with my mom when I was 5 and I remember the paper ballot,” said sophomore Shannon Scott of Maryland. Today, Scott knew she would vote for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton when she stepped up to the electronic voting machine. “She has the ability to tell the truth,” Scott said. “I want a person

PA 05: Shaner & Walker Both in Trouble with the Law!

What do Matt Shaner & Derek Walker have in common? They have both triggered the millionaire clause as they pursue the PA District 5 primary. They both have close family connections to energy companies in PA: Oil for Shaner and coal for Walker.

Now they also have trouble with the law in common!

First we had Matt Shaner with his unfortunate drinking incident where he drank, drove, wrecked, left the scene, called the DA while hiding in his home from the police, denied wrong doing, to then admit it, pay a fine, and hope that all PA voters would forgive and forget.

Now this breaking story in the CDT (nice job CDT) about his challenger, Derek Walker:

WE ARE...Penn State & Hillary '08 Land!

The turn out was nothing short of amazing!

Bill showed up at 8:45 and wowed a packed Rec Hall for an hour with all the reasons why we should vote for Hillary in 2008!

First of all, it was purely incredible to see so many YOUNG people attend this event. I figured it would be well attended, but never imagined so many college aged young adults would show up for Hillary! It was just on the verge of being a standing room only crowd for Bill.

He was as skilled as ever with his message, and completetly mesmerizing. I have pics on my page if you are interested?

Sunday morning brings Barack Obama to the steps of Old Main. Word on the street is that they are expecting 20K to attend. I know I will be there!

Bill Clinton Visiting Penn State -- 8pm March 27th

I have RSVP’d this event!

I am eager to see when Barack will come to State College as well?

In the mean time, for those of you in Central PA that are interested, you can see former President Clinton speak on behalf of his wife on Thursday, March 27th in either Lewisetown, or State College. Just go to www.hillaryclinton.com, click on “states” and down the right hand column is a list of events with details and RSVP instructions.

PA 05-- Shaner: worst. candidate. ever.

Anyone that has come to this site via Google knows my opinion of Matt Shaner.

I think he is the worst candidate in the race to represent Pennsylvania District 5 as a Congressman.

He seems woefully ill prepared, completely disconnected from the common voter, and incapable of sound judgement. But that’s just my opinion.

Why should anyone in PA Congressional District 5 vote for a person who:  read more »

PA 05: Shaner "The PSU Drop-out" Has Serious Cash To Spend!

UPDATE! I found a pic on Google of his staff drinking in Shaner’s headquarters when he ran for state house! BETTER YET A pic of Shaner at Pickles in November…From my own cell phone. He was stumble, fall down, I-don’t-know-who-I-am drunk when I took this. I was with friends, and were shocked at this behavior from the man that would be State Rep Shaner. Check it out at my home blog: Declarations of Pride.

Question: Is alcohol a critical component to electability in PA 05?  read more »

PA 05 -- Shaner "Supports Traditional Values & The Rule of Law"

This comes directly from his website, under “on the issues.”

It should have a flashing light next to it…“Warning Will Robinson…Warning!”

I find it incredibly entertaining that this man sees himself in “support the rule of law” when he has thus far shown himself as one bent on circumventing it.

Remember when he called the DA in State College to ask him how to evade the police knocking on his door? You know, just after wrecking his car in an apparent drunk driving crash?
What a joke.

And then there is this bit of lunacy from his page(Did Rick Santorum write this for him?):  read more »

PA 05 -- Mark McCracken Enters the Race

Welcome to pool Mr. McCracken! It is nice to see a Democrat with strong credentials (at least on paper) reach out to the blog community as part of launching his candidacy.

He sounds great on paper. What say you? I would love to hear some input from those of you in the Clearfield area who have first hand experience of this new candidate for the 5th District seat.

Attached below is his official press release. I have added some points of emphasis for your approval.  read more »

PA District 5 -- Demographic Considerations

According to the CDT, the 5th District in Pennsylvania has approximately 45K more registered Republicans than registered Democrats. Additionally, there are 43K that aren’t registered with either party.

I am not sure why this story is really relevant in this very big field of GOP candidates for the nomination of Peterson’s seat?

All I know is that the headline is “Republicans outnumber Democrats by 45,000 in District 5.”  read more »
