Bush back on the campaign trail, will visit Scranton

President Bush is back on the campaign trail after last night's speech to the Republican National Convention, and his first stop will be in Northeast Pennsylvania. A key state for both presidential contenders, the Northeast region is an especially important battleground, filled with voters who hold conservative social values but liberal economic values.

Vice-Presidential candidate John Edwards was in Pennsylvania on Wednesday for a rally, then in Montgomery County on Thursday, reminding voters of how harsh VP Dick Cheney and Senator Zell Miller sounded in their convention speeches Wednesday night. He went on to emphasize Pennsylvania's job losses and the need to create high-paying domestic employmeny opportunities. Montgomery County, the most populous suburban county in PA, is filled with swing voters and is also considered a key area by both the Bush and Kerry campaigns.
