These clever one-liners of “my party is better than yours” shows the juvenile view that pervades a large segment of the voting population in PA and in America. It makes no difference whether Meuser is a Democrat or a Republican. He will slip around the edges of the law if that’s what it takes to make a buck. In defense of Mr. Meuser, this incident took place over 10 years ago, back when only people living 100 yards inside Texas cared about illegal aliens. Everybody knew they were working all over America, but it had not yet become a political issue. His company did take care of the problem and did put systems in place to prevent a recurrence.
Illegal immigration is much like gun control. Aliens working in the USA illegally has been going on longer than most of us have been alive, but it has only recently become a political issue. Political parties will keep it alive as long as they can use it against the other party. Fixing the problem isn’t really on the minds of those running for office or those in office. It is simply a tool to use during campaigns for what ever help it may give them. Gun Control went through this a few years ago. Have you heard Hillary or Obama or McCain or a state official mention just one word concerning gun control? Not a word. And why? Nobody cares anymore, except those mothers burying their sons in the inner city. But that’s not really a big problem to most Americans. We’ve moved on to immigration. That’s the new hot potato and it will stay hot for a while, but it’s cooling off as we speak. How about the huge Latino demonstrations last summer? Almost looked like a national problem…almost. By the next presidential campaigns, we will have a new BIG problem.

Why are you defending Meuser? Take a look at his website, he’s the one mentioning gun control. He’s the one all over immigration even though he had no problem profiting from the labor of illegals. The fact is business needs regulation, our country needs gun control laws, the government needs to provide some funding for healthcare, and the wealthy should pay their fair share of taxes. Both Hackett and Meuser are typical right-wing conservative republicans-hypocrites. They are business people who will do and say anything that will make them money. Meuser, in his TV ad says,“Ronald Reagan was right.” To me that says it all. Ronald Reagan was never right about anything. He perpetuated the “me” generation, proposed deregulation of business and regulation of the masses. The conservative agenda has helped the wealthiest americans to become wealthier, while systematically eliminating the middle and lower classes. The only way this country can ever regain its once proud stature is to never cast a vote for any canidate who runs on a right-wing platform. Open your eyes, look at their track record. I don’t suggest Democrats and liberals have the right answers, but make an educated decision before casting your vote. Stop worrying about the 2nd amendment and gay marriage, and concentrate on the real issues: a billion dollar war, healthcare, unemployment, the future of your children and grandchildren.
