Faith and community leader Moise “Mike” Waltner announces today his
candidacy for the United States Congress serving the 3rd Congressional
District of Pennsylvania.

Waltner is running on a moral platform committed to moving
Pennsylvania forward into the 21st Century. “I believe that our
leaders have a moral obligation to move America from the present era
of debt and broken promises into a new era of real investment in our
middle class for our present and future generations,” Waltner
declared.

Waltner highest priorities are: bringing the Iraq War to a responsible
conclusion, keeping our promises to seniors, investing in a strong
middle class at home, and making Pennsylvania competitive in the
global economy.

“Our current Congressman is disconnected from the needs and concerns
of the voters of Northwest Pennsylvania. He has not shown the courage
or leadership required to get us out of this war and to take up the
issues that are having a real impact on working families here in our
region. During his tenure on the House Ways and Means Committee, Mr.
English has presided over the largest national debt in our nation’s
history and a record-high trade deficit. He has chosen to sit on the
sidelines at a time when our region and our country requires true
leadership.” Waltner noted. “We need someone who is capable and
committed to do the hard work of leading.”
