A Research 2000 poll done for DailyKos.com has challenger Kathy Dahlkemper up by 7 on incumbent Republican Phil English. The poll was completed 10/6-10/8 of 400 likely voters and has an MOE of +/- 5%.

On October 16th, 2008 Ross Levin said:

His name is Steven Porter and he might attract a decent amount of votes. He ran as a Democrat last time and got over 80,000 votes. Not sure what percentage that is.
