Ever hear of a company named D&L Realty? Two of our esteemed Representatives have: Rep's Fumo and DeWeese. Read on to see why you should care.

First some background on D&L Realty

"Louis A. DeNaples, a Scranton-area businessman who wants to build a gambling hall at a defunct Pocono resort he recently bought, might test some of the issues that the state's new gambling control board will face as it awards slots licenses.

For years, DeNaples has made substantial contributions to local, state and national campaigns, both Democratic and Republican, according to state campaign records. During the last four years alone, DeNaples, his wife and his brother have jointly contributed more than $1 million to political campaigns through a variety of entities.

The money that flows in PA politics is very distrubing. I think some good gov’t reform would include a cap on donation size. My concern will be that the lobbyists and interest groups will still find a way to get money and services into the hands of the legislators.

And who would change the laws? The LEGISLATORS? hahaha.
As far as lobbyist groups go anyway – where there’s a will, there’s a way.

yup… my suggestion is to run if you want to change the system. Nothing is more democratic than challenging an incumbent.

Poor DeWeese – his head rests so comfortably in the clouds that he is unable to see the club headed for his knees (swung proudly by his own party, no less). Bye Bill, and thanks for the scintillating oratory through the years. Advice for state Dems, in phraseology that DeWeese could appreciate: banish the linguistics king to a sanctum of irrelevance. A rudimentary, but vital, step towards competitiveness.

In fairness to Billy, Jubilirer and Brightbill are also on the chopping blocks. There are a couple of leaders who might not make it through the new year with their dignity and job in tact.
