7:45 PM-15 minutes until polls close. KP will update the big ticket races regularly and will provide updates on the state house/state senate races at an infrequent pace. We are plugged in to all of PA's media outlets as well as connected to some of the campaigns. If any campaign out there has information, please email it to lvdem0815@hotmail.com

12:10 AM- Murphy and Murphy lead by small margins and they seem to be waiting for a while. Lois is going to be waiting a while b/c it was almost 2 AM before anything came out of Chesco during the special state senate election for Dinniman. I'm going to fold for the night but will be up paying attention to the early news. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the results. Click on the link to read everything from 8 PM until midnight. A night of change in PA.

8 PM- polls closed, need food. The rest of my comments will be available through the link. If things get out of hand (ie Dems are ramming it down the GOP throats) I'm going to the union hall to celebrate.

8:10-AP, MSNBC, etc called election for Rendell. Nice to know that it made it out of the 8:00 PM hour.

8:20- MSNBC is reporting that the state GOP has filed a motion with the state courts seeking relief for failed voting machines. Not exactly sure what that relief will be, but it looks like an attempt to claim foul play before it's all said and done.

8:30- MSNBC called the race for Casey

8:35-Race called for Menendez... things looking bad for GOP in Indiana

8:40-first numbers rolling in for top of the ticket races. I'll be curious to see if there is a lag in numbers rolling in this year as there have been in previous years. In years past, numbers from the SE, NE and SW come in faster. However, with electronic voting, there might be a more uniform timeframe. will be interesting to watch.

9:05-Race after race is going Democratic. Things are looking like a wave!

9:08- the congressional races are starting to come in. Early results are too tough to read.

9:17-looking at some of the numbers coming in- with 34% of the vote counted in Elk County, Rendell is bringing in more than 60% of the vote. That isn't Rendell country.

9:20- for the senate race, there are numbers coming in from places like Columbia County... 48% of the vote counted-- Casey has 54%. This is not going to be a nice race for Santorum.

9:30 PM- got a call from my GOP friend in Delco, he left the Weldon event and went home. My friend has always had respect for Weldon and continues, but gave up hope tonight around 9:15 PM. Not looking good for the GOP.

9:40 PM-Races in Kentucky and Indiana have been called for Dems. All turn overs

9:45 PM- just got the numbers for the 6th Congressional seat and it's good news b/c the numbers coming in from Berks are going to Lois.

9:50 PM- A GOP plant told me that he saw Rick Santorum back stage at his election party. Things are very quiet.

9:59 PM- Rick Santorum is supposed to take the stage at 10 PM on sharp.--

10 PM- Now that Santorum has admitted defeat, I won't update that race until it's done.--

10:25 PM- I'm told that life in Delco is pretty gloomy for the GOP. I'm not sure iff anybody called the other guy, but it's not looking good for Weldon.--

10:43 PM- Numbers are starting to come in faster for the congressional races and the races in the 6th and 8th are tight. Those are going to be late nights for both campaigns.

10:47 PM- It does not look like the Dems will take the US Senate. Things are tight in VA (less than 30k votes) and it doesn't look good in Tenn. Those we had to have.

10:52 PM- I don't know if things were called earlier or not, but the AP finally called the 7th District for Sestak. That race won't receive an update for a while.

11:03 PM- it doesn't look like there have been a lot of state house races that have swung. These races are the slowest results to get.

11:07 PM- Sestak will be the highest ranking military officer in Congress

11:25 PM- we originally did not have the 16th district as part of our list but we added it around 10:30 to reflect a surprising result to date. Herr was not on my radar at all. If she wins, HOLY COW!

11:26 PM- Swann is live conceding his loss. The poor guy really got hung out to dry by his party.

11:30 PM- Big numbers just came in from Lancaster county and they went huge for Pitts.

11:33 PM- watching the numbers from 8th district. Bucks County is just about a 50/50 split.

11:35 PM- Beaver County came in HUGE for Altmire. I don't think Hart can pull it off. Looks like another stunner.

11:37 PM- I'm watching the Chester County numbers from the 6th and it's going to be a late night. Not many of the results from Chester County have come in, and that applies to a ton of state house races.

11:45 PM- just looked at the VA senate seat: 5k vote margin

11:47 PM- NBC is projecting that Dems will control a majority of Governor offices.

Re: KP Election Night Coverage

Love those numbers out of PA-4. :)

Re: KP Election Night Coverage

Not at all surprised at the Rendell margin, but Casey’s numbers show just how out of touch Ricky really was. Can we all say “it’s the war, stupid!”
And I’m still laughing at that last mystery (or should I say bullshit) poll that showed Ricky “closing” to within 4 or 5 points. Obviously, everyone except the santorum faithful knew it was bogus.
