John Baer | Legislative airbags ignoring seat belts

Kielbasa Day resolutions! That’s too funny… oh wait, it’s true. That’s not so funny anymore.

Why, I wonder, does a state with enough roadway to circle the earth five times (120,423 highway miles, another 8,954 miles of local roads) and 8.4 million licensed drivers not have a better seat-belt law?

Moronic lawmakers too busy voting on Kielbasa Day resolutions?

Ineffectual highway safety lobbyists?

Trial lawyers blocking better belt laws in order to insure the maximum number of serious injury and wrongful death cases to chase?
