Hillary really needs to win PA by at least 10 points, no?
Barack Obama has cut in half Hillary Rodham Clinton’s lead in Pennsylvania from just a week ago, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll out this morning. The automated telephone survey Pennsylvania Survey Monday of 730 likely Democratic voters showed Clinton leads Obama 47 percent to 42 percent ahead of the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.

Lead
You can forget about the double digit lead Clinton had a few weeks ago. The simple fact that over 140000 republicans like me switched to the democratic ticket. It is estimated that 2 million votes will be cast. If 90000 of those 140000 go to Obama that makes up almost 6% of the deficit. Does anyone really think that of those 140000 that switched are doing so on Hillary’s account? I don’t. So right there using the math the double digit lead is now down to single digits and we have three weeks to go. Obama just got another endorsement from Lee Hamilton a former associate in the Clinton administration and strong of foreign affairs. He could be a possible running mate as well.
Becareful what you ask for
I find it amusing that Republicans like you think that by switching and voting for Obama this will somehow result in a “weaker” opponent for McCain in November. While I’m voting for HRC in the primary, I’ve heard Obama speak and he is very charismatic. If he ends up being the nominee expect Americans to embrace him like they did JFK and later RFK.
pd
middle class Republicans
... are switching to Obama because they want him to win. Middle class voters — Republicans, Democrats and independents — realize that they’ve been sold out by the Republican Party, and to some degree by the Clintons themselves (NAFTA, for instance).
That’s what this election is all about — people coming together for change.
I think you were thinking of the Rush Limbaugh listeners. Limbaugh told his listeners to switch to the Democratic Party to vote for Hillary because she’s the weaker candidate. That’s a crock too. Because Hillary will beat McCain as easily as Obama will.
Just two examples: In Wisconsin, Clinton finished second to Obama in total votes, but she still had more votes than McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Paul combined! In Texas, Obama finished second to Clinton in popular votes but he still had more total votes than all the Republican candidates combined! That happened in just about every state.
The Democratic candidate WILL win in November. And I think you’re seeing middle class voters switching to the Democratic Party because they DO want Obama to win.
Republican Switcher
I moved from Lancaster to NJ about 8 months ago. I had been involved in Republican politics there. (Dislodging payjackers, etc.) I switched to vote for Obama in the NJ primary because I liked his style and I cannot trust Hillary.
If Obama wins the nomination, I might vote for him in November. If Hillary gets the nomination, I will probably campaign for McCain. For me, integrity trumps policy decisions.

Obama
Phillydem You misunderstand what I wrote. Those 140000 republicans that switched did not do so to muddy the waters. They switched to actually vote for Obama and that is my intention. Hillary is not electable. Outside of her known dishonesty and incompetance look at the scandels that she will be bringing back to the white house. Do a google on “juanita brodrick” who claimed she was raped by Bill and Hillary knew it. You read the transcript and then tell me if you think she as lying.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTI... When you are done here then google Paula Jones, Jennifer flowers , Whitewatee.
Perhaps you forgot about Hiolary’s brothers Hugh and Tony Rodham one of which was pardoned by Bill as he left office before they could go to trial. Hillary said she knew nothing of it. I on the other hand cannot embrace Hillary for president and that is not sour grapes like many have said. Give me any other dem candidate and I will vote that person but not Hillary. It is because she would be worse for the country than McBush. Even without a dem president I am confident that this election will give the house and senate the overwhelming majority to tie the hands of any republican.
BarrACK
I don’t think he is as charasmatic as people say. He is rather arrogant and I think it is starting to show more. He is not such a fresh voice. I think he’s the new coke and most people eventually want the old coke. I think McCain will win easily against Obama. The pendulum has swung to much to the left
The truth is out of the bag
Here in Pittsburgh, I’ve been seeing — mainly hearing — things shift from Clinton to Obama. First, my fellow moms started admitting that they had changed their minds from Clinton to Obama but a lot of them were afraid to admit it. In many cases, their husbands, fathers, even mothers were still for Clinton or McCain. Gradually, they started hearing their husbands say “there’s no WAY I’d vote for Clinton” after one of her many gaffes or “SHAME ON YOU!”-type statements. Finally, their parents started saying “I’m voting for Obama, I think McCain’s too old” or “we really need to end this war, I’m voting for Obama.”
The bottom line is that more people in the ‘burgh are ready and willing to say they’re for Obama. Add in the fact that many more surely haven’t spoken up yet and Obama could actually be IN THE LEAD here in PA.

Elaine Labalme
A Mom is running for president
She’s done a terrific job of raising her daughter and of making good policy for all families. That’s why this mom is sticking with Hillary.
MOM
Any self respecting mom would have left her husband once she found out her husband was having affair after affair. What does staying with Bill show her daughter? It shows she is a second class citizen who can’t do any better or in Hillarys case she is so power hungry she would not leave because of the power that might come her way which is as I suspect now. n her mind the presidency is owed her. What mother would allow her daughter in the same home with a man who could be having a B/J at any time. There is evidence that Hillary was in the white house while this was going on. Bill Clinton has been accused by several prominent people as being a sex addict.
Switching sides
It is just the opposite for me. I worked for Sen. Obama for a few weeks until I found out I was sold a bill of goods that stank. He voted for big oil tax breaks in 2005, voted to close assistance offices in Ill. that provided things like daycare for low income families. His staff felt safe cracking jokes about Italians (all are gangsters you know) and Jews too. I started to do my research and found out some other interesting facts. Did you know that a he supported single payer health care? I wonder if he changed his mind because he decided to run for high office or if it had to do with Chicago University hospital’s billing practices? I know just because his wife was on the board of directors does not mean that she condoned their practice of over billing patients without insurance. I thought however a not for profit hospital making millions doing this is questionable at best. When I asked about this my dedication to Sen. Obama was questioned. It did not matter that I( found this out while calling a voter to see if they were voting for him. Look deeper there is a lot more out there that the media has held back. It will come out however in time for the general election.
Same here - made calls for O but decided on H
Back when I thought both Democratic candidates were terrific, I made some calls for Obama. Then he started to seem like a con artist – saying anything, distorting facts – and I didn’t like the way the staff talked about Hillary – calling her all kinds of names – that “monster” comment by the insider was just typical of the way they act. Also, as you point out, Hillary has it all over Obama on substance and what she has actually accomplished. I’m convinced Hillary is the only one who can beat McCain & she would be better for the country.
Good on you for asking questions of Obama
It is easy to just listen to what Obama has to say: it all sounds good in a speech. But it is real smarts to dig deeper to solidify your convictions, and once you do, you realize that Obama has more unknown questions about his policies that he projects in person.
Questions surround Obama’s Candidacy:

MOMS
As a woman, I know that a woman generally does twice the work and gets half the credit. Look at record the woman has always worked very hard. She understands women’s issue. I know that this mother of marine trusts Hillary to end this war in a faster and safer way.
Wow!
This poll looks great for Obama especially if he decreased Clinton’s lead by so much in such a short time!
polls
Publicpolling has Obama ahead today as opposed to being down by 26% several weeks ago. They have a remarkable good track record.
Not so fast
I have been canvassing for Hillary in Philly and I can tell you of the sixty undecided homes I knocked on at least 40 said yes for Hillary. Only one person was for Obama. Also any Hispanic household I talked to (15) insisted they would never ever vote for Obama. Real enthusiasm on the streets.
I expected some negative feed back but I was impressed with the great responses I got from people.
Hillary will take PA by +12!
60 neighbors don't make a case
HRC’s campaign is actually going into free fall and here are only three reasons:
(1) Democrats (both women and men) are sick of Hillary’s phoney whinning about “The boys are picking on me”
(2) They are further tired of her outright lying as with the infamous “sniper story” – a tall tale which she repeated again and again, during at least three separate rallies and then claimed it “was only a slip of the tongue.” – a wishy-washy and dumb excuse that only served to compound the original lie.
(3) Hillary’s red-faced, finger-jabbing husband, snapping at people like some guy whose wheels are beginning to come off. Worse yet, his conduct only reminds us of the same finger-jabbing on network television 12 years ago when he lectured all of America on his not having sex with “that woman.”
Matt Thomas
60 neighbors
Some of us are tired of how much Obama is allowed to get away with just because he’s black. No way any white man or any woman black or white would be allowed to be in this race, much less get away with being able to brush aside the reverend problem because of one speech.
Thank you for canvassing for Hillary!
Thank you for getting out there and canvassing. That’s great news. I’d trust someone who’s “on the ground” more than the polls anyway. Look at the polls before New Hampshire – dead wrong. Look at the Wall St. Journal poll last week, where they over-sampled African-Americans and then concluded that Wright hasn’t hurt Obama!
Proof is in the pudding
That’s just like the Clinton camp to plant more fears. Just like NAFTA.
Wake up!
People who believe in
People who believe in frauds like Global Warming, will believe that Canadian healthcare works well and that Britain is a better place to live with high taxes and lousy healthcare.
It’s nice that gullible, bitter people have a political party that lets them pretend to be smart. Too bad nothing they do ever works.
But, most of them just want more money.
What ridiculous observations!
The evidence for Global Warming is out there unless you prefer to “bury your head in the sand” like the proverbial ostrich does!
global
Even you commander in chief finally buckled under the evidence for man made global warming. You need to stop listening to Rush about Europe and Canadas health care system. Do you hear anyone clamoring for change? No. Don’t you think that if the people didn’t like it , it would be very simple to just let private companies take over? You need to think on this and stop accepting the talking points as fact because they are not. As I said before I came back from Nasau where they have socialized medicine. The tour guide was talking about the socialized health care system there and he said when he uses it he pays twelve dollars but you may have a wait. If you have someting serious “they see you immediatly”. So much for the right wing talking points.
Englands health care
Have you been to England? Have you had to go to an emergency room there? Well I have relatives living there and on a visit broke my arm. They have better care than we do. In 45 minutes I had been seen by an orthopedist, X-ray, casted, and released. My grandfather while fighting cancer not only received excellent care but also the Dr. made house calls when he could not get in. Here he would have died an 83 year old mam with a mass of cancer from his pelvic bone to hid backbone. He beat it without chemo or radiation. Yes he passed away at 91. Yes our health care is so much better.
Today’s Global Warmers
Today’s Global Warmers believed in Global Freezing when they were told to.
Before that, it was the ozone hole. They believed in that until the freon manufacturers were able to raise prices so that a .99cent can of freon now sells for twenty dollars and has to be installed by a professional.
Liberal attention spans approximate the lifespan of a fruitfly, so they never let yesterday’s silliness keep them from today’s.
I understand that ALL the
I understand that ALL the world’s problems are caused by Liberals, but I’ve never heard a single solution to any of the world’s problems come out of a Conservative’s mouth. It baffles me that middle class Conservatives (this brillant breed of humans) hasn’t recognized the glaring fact that your close relatives, the upper class Conservatives, are stealing you blind. Everything from higher oil prices (the Republicans love to protect the big oil companies), trillions of dollars in overseas debt (Republicans love to wage war and lie about why we are there…they’re lying to you), taxing you and cutting the taxes of the wealthy (this was a Bush idea…he is not a Liberal…oh, but he is going to give you $1000 bucks so you can pay off your house). Someday you will see (much to the wealthy Conservatives dismay) that the middle class Conservatives like yourself are simply being used to get them richer and richer. But you’re so clever you already knew that.
I love how Clinton's
biggest supporter in the state, Gov. Rendell, opened up our state forests to increased oil and gas drilling the same day that Ms. Clinton was blasting oil companies’ record profits.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/4/2/143110/5215…
Can someone please tell me…does Ms. Clinton support the Governor’s decision? The only reason Rendell is doing this is so these oil and gas companies can capitalize on the historically high prices for crude oil and natural gas. And in the process, they’ll destroy the remote and pristine nature of the most beautiful part of the state.
I expect this from Republicans. Not the Democrats. My mistake.
unbelievable
This is what oil companies do to Third World countries: exploit their natural resources for private profit.
And Rendell is letting this happen? Couldn’t he see what it was doing to PA’s national forests? So where is this going…
Every resident of PA — from the conservative Republicans who like to hunt and fish to the progressives and environmentalists — should be outraged by this, and working to stop it, or to hold accountable the elected officials who are allowing it.
“I understand that ALL

Thats because the very word conservative means keep the status quo. If conservatism had its way over the years we would still have slave auctions on the square every week, women would not be allowed to vote, own property, we would be praying for a cure instead of searching for one etc. One more point I prefer to use the term “progressive” instead of liberal. Pass it on.
“Liberal” has sadly
“Liberal” has sadly become a bad word…I like “Progressive”. Thanks, I am now a Proud Progressive.
Progressive. Yes.
I suggested (on another forum) the use of the term Progressive several years ago…as a replacement for Liberal. Many people blanched at the idea. Many considered it tantamount to surrender. Yet now, it seems, more and more people are adopting the idea. Bully!
Liberals, unfortunately, let their moniker be co-opted and denigrated by right-wing radio jerks and others in positions of power. They were outflanked by a GOP that was better than they were at controlling the messaging. I think those days are over…and, I too, am proud to consider myself a Progressive.
Pilt
I have never seen such
I have never seen such silly posts about energy. There’s no problem with drilling in parks, etc. Even the Audubon Society makes a lot of money allowing people to heat their homes with gas and oil pumped from their “precious” nature preserves. So far, no loss of precious animals, even though disgusting human beings may be helped.
Common sense says “Good, let them.” when people have a chance to be more prosperous and save some money.
Only the professional nanny-staters always say “No.”, and most of them gravitate to a Party that encourages their bitterness and negativity.
By the way, what ever happened to Global Warming? Is the bloom off the fraud after record cold weather in the past few months, despite all the fraudsters’ predictions to the contrary?
Please, don’t let facts get in the way.
Recreation and tourism
is much more important than drilling oil and gas wells. The latter will line the pockets of a few at the expense of the recreation and tourism value provided by our public lands.
Get a clue. Look at the Allegheny National Forest. They just had a tourism study completed in Warren County showing that tourism is decreasing with the increase in oil and gas drilling. Coincidence?
There was a town in McKean County that just last year had its water supply contaminated by oil and gas drilling. Now they have to have their water hauled in by truck. Isn’t that nice.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Just a hack for corporate pigs.
Whatever happened to Global
Whatever happened to Global Warming?
Don’t forget that all of Creation started on
November 2, 4011 BC. Maybe you should walk towards the light and give the rest of us a break.

Nanny staters? Thats another Rush talking point. Get a life.
As to global warming your idiot president now admits to the reality of man made global warming. Turn the talk radio off and read. May I suggest you start here for global warming:

I am a lifelong Republican recently changed to Dem
I am reading Obama’s book. I think this country need him. My only concern is if he will find a way to bring a new accountability and individual responsibility to this country. Rich and Poor, Black and White, Individuals and Corporations, all must step up and be more accountable.
I live in Oregon. I urge you all out there to consider BHO as new fresh leadership to America.
Obama's Book
Dear, dear Oregon I could have all kinds of help writing a book that would make you want to vote for me to.
In this day and age you really need to investigate all aspects of this Senator. In fact I would bet you could co-author a book that would make me want to vote for you to. Please take the time to investigate all his votes, or lack of, all his changing his plans to what ever state he is in, to how he raised his money, etc. Make an informed dission. I am not going to try to convince you to vote for another. I would think that if you take a real deep look at Obama you will change your vote on your own. Have a great day.
Obama's the real deal.
I’ve been reading much about both democrats. Critisism for Obama comes from ‘he said/ she said’ comments but critisism for HRC comes straight from her mouth.
So the question is, do I chance change for the better or go with someone who I know will create a disaster?
Obama's the real deal.
Makes you kinda think that these ‘he said/ she said’ comments are being planted by the Clinton Camp (as NAFTA was).
