I’m surprised to see that Barack Obama is leading in Florida, but not too surprised about Ohio and Pennsylvania. What do you think?
It’s certainly early, but Barack Obama gets some good news this morning out of a new Quinnipiac University series of swing state polls that shows him leading John McCain by a double-digit margin in Pennsylvania and about half as much in Florida and Ohio.First the overall numbers:
The Pennsylvania poll of 1,511 likely voters showed Obama leading 52-40 percent with a 2.5 percent margin of error.

Amazing. People who are
Amazing. People who are ravaged by $4.00 a gallon gasoline will vote for someone who won’t increase the supply by drilling to make their lives better.
Some people hate their neighbors so much they don’t care how badly they, themselves, are hurt.
They always vote for Democrats. By the way, whatever happened to Global Warming?
Simple solutions to complex problems....
If you honestly think that the world’s energy problems are as simple as, “just drill more wells!” then you had better start reading a bit more…and stop using Ditto Head talking points as your frame of reference. It just isn’t that simple….
Think about this for a moment; don’t you image that the oil companies are more than happy to reap record profits? They will never do ANYTHING that could potentially hurt their profits and the all-mighty stockholders! In fact, it is clear that energy companies are in a win-win situation; they can always sell their product, because it is necessary and there is a limited supply. They can also make a ton of money by playing the commodities markets and protecting their positions. They are literally laughing all the way to the bank….
As to global warming, if you have some empirical data that now supersedes the massive number of peer-reviewed studies that point to it being a reality, then let ‘em fly. But I also have to ask this; shouldn’t we be decreasing the use of fossil fuels anyway? Shouldn’t we be making efforts to lower pollution? What, exactly, is the downside of not being dependent on a single vector source of energy?
Pilt
Agrred. Its amazing how the
Agrred. Its amazing how the Conservative sector of the working class blindly supports these huge corporate profits that are making so few so ungodly rich. One step forward…two steps back. The best thing that could happen to this world is to run out of oil today.
PILT IS ABOUT TO WILT
peer-reviewed studies = hippie egg-headed tree huggers spewing jibberish, this is not empirical data .
Pilt, build more nuke plants, drill for the oil that exists in this country. This will put us on the road to independence.
McCain is paving the way, just stop hating and be a true American and pick whats right for this country.
B.H.O. is not the answer, he is the anti-christ.
ALL FOR NUKES
Well said. I agree completely. If these liberal idiots would get their heads out of their @$$es maybe they’d finally be able to see what is right.
I might be wrong, but
I might be wrong, but aren’t we being led by a Conservative administration and have been for 8 long years? Tell me one thing that this wonder child has done for me or for you?
YOU ARE WRONG.......REALLY
What has your democratic Congress done since they took power?
The answer is NOTHING!!!!!! No plan, No agenda—-just finger pointing and empty scare tacticts.
The reality of the
The reality of the situation is that Democrats hold a slim majority in the House and Senate, which prevents any major policy changes. Similar to the status of PA House, Congress is currently muddled in battle for a workable majority.
If the poster above wasn’t so stuck in Republican vs. Democratic nonsense, and looked, again, at the reality of the situation, he or she wouldn’t be so ignorant.
You are correct, sir! This
You are correct, sir! This is a perfect reason why we so desperately need a strong 3rd party, if for any reason just to break the stalemates that plague our system the way it is.
Congress is to blame!!!!!
Congressional ratings are at a historic ALL-TIME-LOW!!!!!
LET THE PEOPLE BE HEARD.
Pelosi and obama are a joke!!!!
Let’s listen to Jimmy
Let’s listen to Jimmy Carter and John Kerry…...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
right…........uuuggghh.
It isn't over until the Fat lady Sings
Well Obama may be leading in Pennsylvania according to Polls but I don’t believe in polls. I ask the question who was polled and where were the polls taken? If you listen to people who are members of both parties in the Social Organizations around the Commonwealth you here a different story. I hate to say it but you have a lot of biggoted people in Pennsylvania who will not vote for a Black man for President. Most of these people are the older Pennsylvanians around the Commonwealth who make up the lions share of votes and most of them are white. Come general election time Pennsylvania will end up in Republican hands rather than Democratic hands because of the way most Pennsylvanian’s feel. No one will come out and say it but it is a fact of life and you will find this true in most swing states where there is a lot of older retired people. Most think Obama is a Socialist and the left leaning Democratic Party is made up of many socialists who want to controll the lives of everyone and they do this through big government and high taxes. The American People have a short memory but wasn’t it Clinton who last raised taxes during his first two years in Office as President when the Democrats controlled Congress. Two years later the Democrats were out and the Republicans took over, because people did not want to pay for higher taxes, history will repeat itself if for some reason Obama wins the general election which is very doubtful. They want people to rely on the Federal Government for everything. We had a runup in the last election in Pennsylvania when Lynn Swann ran for Governor and most Pennsylvanians from both parties voted against him not because of his education but because of his skin color. The news media wants everyone to believe otherwise but it is a fact of life in our day and age and it will take many years before we see a black man in the oval office.
Should we vote for a
Should we vote for a candidate just BECAUSE they are black???
Can you disagrre with a black candidate and not be called racist???
