“I think I proved a couple weeks ago why nobody would want me as vice presidential nominee,” said the governor, who acknowledged Saturday that “I have a terrible liability.”Rendell was talking about his tendency to speak his mind — not some skeletons in his closet.
“If I’m asked a question, I answer it and I tell the truth. That probably isn’t a good idea for someone who is the No. 2 on the ticket,” Rendell said Saturday in an interview with reporters from The Patriot-News and The Politico for C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” which will air nationally Sunday.
“I would hate to think that an honest but politically incorrect answer that I gave as a vice presidential candidate might hurt my running mate who is running for president of the United States,” Rendell said.

Wrong horse
Of course with Obama as the nominee he will have been betting on the wrong hourse.
And I was so hoping to see Catherine Baker Knoll
succeed Edward G. Robinson as Governor.
I hope you are joking!
My greatest fear for this state is that CBK ever replaces Rendell. She is not competent enough to be governor. She’s a joke!
Benefit of the doubt
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I tend to agree that it’s a scary thing if CBK takes over. No worries – Rendell is stuck with the rest of his term under President Obama.
What's the chance that an obese man in his 60's who likes
cheesesteaks will die of a heart attack? We need to get Ed on a diet, for the sake of the Commonwealth.
Catherine Baker Knoll may
Catherine Baker Knoll may do a better job. If she worked as hard giving cheap electricity to Pennsylvania with nuclear reactors instead of expensive, erratic, politically correct nonsense, a lot of us would vote for her.
If Mr. Rendell had worked as hard on new power generation as he did on gambling casinos, we’d all be more prosperous.
That’s not what they want.
Big Ed The Veep
Ed is right on. The unfortunate part is that he would be a great VP, or maybe even a great President. He’s a strong personality with a ton of smarts. This doesn’t always relate to being “electable,” but it is often what we really need!
To the question of CBK, I don’t know the lady personally, but at an event I saw her speak at last year, she seemed confused and rambling. There was a lot of eye rolling amongst those assembled. She has done a fine job, but it’s, from what I saw, time to move on.
Pilt
CBK is always confused
She’s always confused; that’s the problem.
