State Officials Will Endorse Obama Today

Hoping to be able to play off Barack Obama’s performance in Tuesday’s so-called Potomac Primary, a group of Pennsylvania officials today will announce their support for the Illinois senator in the presidential race.

Former acting Gov. Mark Singel, a Democrat, said several state lawmakers are expected to express support for Obama at a Capitol news conference. The purpose is to discuss Obama’s performance in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., primaries, Singel said.

Machinery v. Change

This is a defining moment in Pennsylvania politics. By watching endorsements, we’ll see which Democrats are part of the thick political machinery (Clinton supporters) and which ones are for seeking change (Obama endorsers). Don’t be surprised if a few come out and support McCain in the future, too.

Not that simple

Oh boy, I don’t think it’s quite that simple, Jake. I’m consistently an advocate of change, but I don’t think Obama’s the best person for the job…

These are just new power hungry persons

Anyone who sees these people as agents of change is sorely mislead. Mark Singel? He is not seeking change, he is seeking relevance, influence, access, which all equals money…for himself and his friends. No different than anybody else. Also, look deeper into Obama…where is his money coming from??? Not from agents of change. Its coming from the same old groups of people.

If change is your only issue, vote Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee. If you’re a D, don’t waste your vote on Obama…

It is that simple

Obama is what this country needs: a sincere, articulate uniter.

This argument over experience that H. Clinton is making is weak, and desperate at best. Let’s face it, Hillary is not all that experienced herself and I don’t feel comfortable with Bill playing backseat President.

Besides, Bush brought in a lot of so called experienced people to DC and the country was set back 40 years.

Obama will rise to the occasion, he already has as a campaigner.

Hmmm, wasn’t campaigning a supposed Clinton strong suit too, much like experience?

Obama and women voters

I am a 60 year old white educated female. I am totally disgusted by remarks made by women in my age group on why they will vote for Hillary Clinton! When I here a women say “It’s time for a woman to run this country” I cringe! That is the most inane reason to vote for a candidate that I have ever heard. Please “WOMEN” get your heads straight, this is not about “NOW” or any other womens movement. This is about who will help turn this country around and make it strong again.

Let's not help the Republicans!

I could not decide who I would support-Clinton or Obama. Pepublicans hate Hillary.I suspected many Republicans would not vote this election since large numbers of Republicans are unhappy with their choice of candidates. However, I feel Republicans who had no intention of voting this time will turn out in huge numbers to have a Republican defeat Hillary if she is the Democratic candidate. Many Republicans hate Hillary! That reasoning made me decide to choose Obama.

Agreed

To echo Greg’s sentiments above, he believes Obama is “not the best person for the job”... but why?

Hillary Clinton is not the most qualified person for the job because it’s a job she may never accomplish:

1. She may not beat Obama;
2. If she does, there’s less of a chance of her beating McCain;
3. And if she wins both of those battles, there’s little chance of bipartisanism between the three branches of government.

Obama might not be perfectly qualified. He has faults. He’s the most liberal Senator, and that will worry some. He was raised in a Muslim nation, which has led to an internet wildfire slander. But he’s a consensus builder, and that’s why I – and many others – like him, trust him, and will vote for him in Pennsylvania, even if Sen. Clinton is forecast to win.

Did they actually make an announcement?

There is no press on this at all.
