Biodiesel plant, ice cream the order of the day for Obama and Biden

Now this is the kind of stop that will win over voters. Picking up the tab for everyone at the ice cream stand won’t be forgotten when these people step into the voting booth. (They should have hit Hank’s in NB for the best custard ice cream, though.)

“There’s no pretense here. This really is just about getting some ice cream,” one Obama campaign staffer said.

Obama — ... — was a free spender at the ice cream shop.

Obama bought cones, slushes and other treats for dozens of people there, including the national press traveling with him, wide-eyed local teens, frenzied supporters who raced to the shop after learning Obama was there and Rocco Leone of Hopewell, who was celebrating his sixth birthday.

OBama/Biden vs McCain/Palin - ice cream

It seems McCain is trying to oust the Democrats with the ice cream thing to win votes. As an interested observer, it seems to me McCain picked Palin because everyone will be so curious about her they will be distracted from the success of the Democrats convention and the rising allegiances to this group’s current candidate.

What strikes me is that McCain for a long time publicly screamed about the “inexperience” of Obama, and then turns around and selects a considerably more inexperienced candidate as his running mate. In my humble opinion, this tells me his words are meaningless, if he doesn’t believe his own words and hold true to them, who should? I now question his credibility and honesty. It appears he is not thinking of what’s best for the country, only what’s best for himself.

I don't get it

I just have an uneasy feeling about this Palin as VP. She’s so far to the right, Pat Buchanan was asking, “what is she doing all the way over there?” I am sure of one thing though. Our nation is in a precarious position right now, and I know we don’t need the Mayor of Podunk, Alaska as our second in command. I can’t say when, but I have a feeling Palin withdraws from the ticket. Maybe it is just wishful thinking because I am 180 degrees of everything she stands for.

Buying Votes

I have to chuckle when I read these posts.

They used to call that buying votes. If it was McCain you would ask for congressional censure.

A Governer has far more responsibility than a Senator. You folks keep forgetting is is Governor Palin.

Obama has experience running his campaign and giving speaches. That does not qualify you for president.

Be careful what you wish for before you pull the Obama lever. The world is far to chaotic for on the job training.

The first qualification is smarts....

...which Governor Palin has yet to show. Indeed, she has shown quite the opposite.

Put aside the old saw about Governors vs Senators and realize the 800 pound gorilla in the room is this; Sarah Palin is so far out of her league that it isn’t funny.

Beside, “governing” AK is far different than dealing with other, more complex and diverse states like PA or IL. Alaska would still be Seward’s Folly if it wasn’t for OIL, and this means that, as long as they keep pumping that stuff out of the ground, the Governor of Alaska can pretty much do as he or she pleases. AK residents just want those oil checks to keep rolling in….

Piltdown

You know Pilt, it all comes

You know Pilt, it all comes down to taking this country and the inexcusable condition it is in serious. And I don’t see the GOP doing that. First of all, nominating McCain over several other candidates was absured, nominating Palin brought back my highschool class Treasurer days and the postponement of McCain’s campaign would fit better in a Warner Bros cartoon than the run for the Presidency. Only during the debate did McCain show any understanding of the magnitude of the situation we are all in and then every so slightly.

Nothing can make you ready

Nothing can make you ready to be President of the United States of America. Remember George Bush was Governor Bush before he became President and look at how qualified he is.
